I've found what appears to be a 1969 quarter, just curious if this could be an error coin or post mint. Besides the obvious damage/error It appears to have small letters on both sides, possibly an A below the neck and a D at the bottom of the hair. And on the left wing of the eagle an O or U. The more I look the more I feel like I see so just wanted to know what you think! Any input is much appreciated.

once a coin is damanged that much, it's very difficult to assess it for errors, all those spurious letter shapes are probably caused by the damage

take an undamaged quarter, check that it has no unexpected small letters, then drag it along concrete, smash it with a hammer a few time, etc. and voila you'll have another coin that appears to have little letters on it

Thanks for the info! I've always been one to pick up any an every coin on the ground since I can remember, just now started to actually look at them an have come to appreciate the age and anything that sets it apart from the others. I'm definitely intrigued at this point an will be on the hunt from this point on. And will always appreciate any insight on future coins I'm sure ill post!

It is an 1969P Type F with big damages. This type for this kind in common variety which in MS add around 1$. Sorry but your coin is just an spender.
