Hi and thanks for looking. I am very new to this and am finding coins that I find stunning starting with this 1974 S penny. Hard to capture with iphone but it is not dark brown to the eye, it has a beautiful lustrous quality. Thanks for your input in helping me learn. It is clearly worn.

Very little if any hair detail loss, lovely chocolate color - I'll say AU-58.

AU50+ rings my bell. Lots of light chatter/dings on the obverse--high point wear. Another good hole filler.

You managed to confuse me with 3 entirely different colors of that coin . 1st photo AU-58RD with a touch of wear. 2nd photo EF-40BN and full of hits and dings .The reverse is in between the both of them .

The images are pretty inconsistent, for sure.

Sorry.. yes I tried different ways this time with only my iphone. The darker ones were near the window but still too dark. The real color does show a bit more red, not dark brown. But under incandescent light you could see the richness that I can see with my eyes. This is very tricky. I didn't want to use the microscope app, but today was a cloud day as well. I'm sorry!
