I think I'm getting the hang of it. I found this 1998 cent in a roll tonight. The upper left hand side of the reverse image is very thick compared to the rest of the image. I'm guessing it's from a worn die that's causes this effect. Am I right?

It looks like Machine Doubling to me.

I would agree - looks like Mechanical Doubling due to ejection.

I did find one with a double date.I will have to check and take some pics of it and post later.Yours is a nice find!
