Hello everyone, here are two plaster casts of the famous Canada 50 cents 1921. These proofs were made from the real dies of the 50 cents 1921. Only two copies are known. There is series A and I donated the series
B at the Bank of Canada Museum. There are also plaster casts for the Canada dollar 1911 and that of a very rare Canadian colonial token from 1839 of which I will post the photos.

The series A that I kept is the most beautiful of the two. I will follow the photos of the Canadian dollar 1911 and the Canadian token 1839 this week as an example.

The British Museum had on hand certain Cast Plasters of very rare Canadian coins which it presented during exhibitions. During these events, the Museum presented Cast Plasters previously painted with a color identical to silver. Cast Plasters were on display as coins are very rare and could be stolen. As specified before, there are two series of known series A and B, front and back proof. I donated the B series to the Bank of Canada Museum, which is less beautiful than the A series. The Museum did not have these famous Cast Plasters in its inventory. The proof-68s graded by CCCS have all the details of the Canada 50 cents 1921 because they were produced from the same dies. In short, these are very rare and unique items. Collectors who are eager to complete their collection and who do not have the financial means to obtain a 50 cent 1921, these proofs are an excellent alternative.

Very cool.. I recall seeing the 1911 dollar casts at a dealer's table a couple years ago. I'd love to know what these are worth?

Yes, a most important question. When were they made and who made them?
Did the mint make plaster casts every year?
The rarity of the 1921 50cent wasn't known for almost 10 years, after a couple of hundred thousand of them were melted and repurposed.

Here is the images of the Canadian token 1839 from the Bank of Canada Museum (NCC) as well as the letter from the Bank of Canada Museum in relation to the gift of the series B that I gave them and also the research that their curator carried out in relation to the Cast Plaster of the 50 cents 1921. The curator explains in this letter that The Royal Mint London has produced for the museums Cast Plasters with the actual dies of the 1921 50 cents and for some rare Canadian coins. These proofs were used during exhibitions. The Cast Plasters were then painted the original color of the coins.
