In bank rolls I have been finding a number of weak C's, a few missing C's and have seen missing 'C-E-N' in Cents.
Anyone else spot any?

Guessing these may be partial grease-filled die issues.

Coinfrog-at first that seemed to be a possibility but there have been far too many popping up. I have found 40 such errors of varying degrees and know of at least 5 other individuals who have found the error in varying degrees as well. This would undoubtedly be a filled die but unlikely grease would cause the progression from a slightly weak strike through to obscuring multiple letters.

That"s the problem with filled die variety, if there are lots of them, they become kind of normal although the missing two letter is kind of cool, and welcome !

I do not think it is grease. First: Now it is use a glyceridic solution which need 85 to 90 deg to become solid. Hypothesis eliminate. IMO this is due to the Die or Master die Hub. I read somewhere that are know more then 10K like this, so we consider an error? I doubt at this no.

John100- well the most significant is missing 3 letters. And the more that are found the more popular an error becomes. These are not the special order rolls but the intended for circulation rolls found at banks. Hope someone else finds a few and posts pictures here!!

If is not a special strike are mean will be around 400 K coins like this. On circulating coins, a Die struck 400K coins. We have coins struck 5K which barely have 1-2$ more. What you think about 400K?

Silviosi-oh my! No one brought up values this is a fun thread to see if anyone else finds any!
I'm sure you've looked at all three pictures I've uploaded in order to visualize the progression of this error.
Who knows when the error started or when the Mint caught it!
