Hi,
Is this a rim error of some sort of just damage? And does it have any added value?

Thanks in advance.

looks like a partial collar. But a few too many pictures depicting the same thing. I got the jist of the possible issue with the first 4 pictures.

To me it looks like a Dryer Coin. (Damaged in a commercial dryer flattening the reeds on the edge of the coin) Note the rim is starting to distort in shape. Then the planchets are cut, the metal color stretches on the outside edge of the coin. The wider line of the gray color, is the side that the blank was cut. The side with the wider band of copper was the bottom of the blank. The setup process that creates the proto rim on the blank, turning the blank into a planchet when it is added to the blank.

When the planchet is struck, it becomes a coin with the reeds on the outside edge of the coin. Your coin is appearing slightly flattened, so it it was in a short ride in the dryer, but it alters the edge of the coin.

This happens on a longer ride. And the most extreme ride can alter the coin into this eventually:

The longer the ride, the more damage happens to the coin.

To me, the edge looks like the Ike was encased at one time.

Looks like the rim has been milled down to fit in a bezel or encasement.
