Hello everyone!

As the title says, I got a new coin for my iberian collection. I'm particularly happy about this one because it is my first one from the category "greek iberian coins" which is awesome! It's dated to 200-150 BCE.

Obverse is a female figure bust, and the reverse is a pegasus. At 0.35 grams and 10mm it's definitely on the tiny side! Denomination is a tritemorion, or 1/8 of a drachma; and place of minting is Emportion, which is now abandoned and whose ruins can be seen near Sant Martí d'Empúries (despite it being abandoned in the 6th century CE, it gave the name to the county of Empúries, which was an independent county until the early 1400s and still today is an honorific title)

I hope some of you like it and learnt a bit!

Benny

Thanks for sharing.

Be careful though. These tiny coins can become quite addictive, as I have found to my cost.

Thank you for the comments!

@Novicius I have two more small greek coins but since now I'm focusing on iberian coins I am sure there won't be a problem there. But of course there are other money sinks in this collecting area... :D
