1956 Wheat Cent With A Wavy Surface

ATcoins New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 04/06/2022 12:20 am I recently found this interesting Wheat penny. I'm pretty sure it's post minting damage but it peaks my interest and curiosity. It appears it has been subjected to extreme heat which has literally melted the surface and made waves in it. Any ideas how this would even happen? Maybe a welder or electric current of some sorts. IDK if anyone else would even give it a second thought but it set my wheels in motion thinking how or why this happened. I would welcome your brainstorming on this, Art.
