I read from a post and also some youtube videos that, silver coin is not magnetic, but when the silver move in a magnetic field, there would be a force to stop or slow its movement. I see some guys do the demo with silver eagle and maple leaves.

So I made a magnetic slide myself and try the test, then very scary!! All my coins slide smoothly down the magnetic slide!, including the one I purchase directly from RCM! No matter its 99% pure, or 92.5% sterling, all slide down smoothly. Does that mean all my NCLT coins are not really silver? Did you guys do similar test ever to verify it is really silver coin?

And be careful about the silver dollars on ebay! I bought this one, the 1981 proof silver dollar, just to show it together with the mater club only version:
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/114827880053

Based on the description, also the data I found online, it should be 50% silver and 50% copper, it should not be magnetic, but the one I get from ebay is magnetic!!!
No wonder why it looks in such a good condition. I also got some from an auction site, those coins are obviously old and not in good condition, also are 50% silver. But they are not magnetic. However, those old silver dollars still fail the magnetic slide test .....

perhaps it is your slide that isn't working correctly. You need extremely strong magnets.

the mint does not sell fake silver coins...

the 1981 coin you linked above is .500 silver

I agree with silverwolf's comment about your slide...You need to tell us much more about the slide you built (magnets used, length of slide, angle of slide, etc.) before any meaningful comments can be made. The slide could be the source of your issues. An image or two of it would also be helpful.

I would strongly recommend that you never slide proof coins down a slide as you can permanently scratch their surfaces. (FYI: If you slide proof coins down a slide while they are still in their plastic capsule to protect them, the results of your magnetic slide test are invalid.)

As already noted, the Mint does not sell fake coins. That should be a good indicator that the problem you are seeing lies elsewhere.

Yeah, actually, I made the slide in a wrong way. The direction of each magnetic should be in a certain order. I correct the slide, and all my coins pass the test.
Even with the capsule, you can still see the change of movement. Sivers are really slower when sliding down.

However, the 50% silver dollar from the ebay link should be a fake coin. @silverworf, I know it is 50%, but the other 50% is copper. still should not be magnetic. And non of my other 50% silver dollars is magnetic. Maybe I am wrong, but is there any 50% silver dollar is magnetic?
Rest in Peace

Just type "magnetic silver slide" into the YouTube search box - you'll have multiple from which to choose.
