Coin is stunning in its luster and preservation. I will say MS64. The obverse toning however is not attractive imho as there seem to be a large number of scattered dots rather than an attractive even progression in the color.

Wowzas this one has a lot going on! It appears to be uncirculated, toning looks like it is from a whitman folder. I think someone sneezed on the coin. Not too many visible contact marks, but short from being a gem. MS-64

I'm thinking more like MS-63. The reverse is very pleasing. The obverse however leaves a lot to be desired in eye appeal because of the splotchy toning and detracts from the bold details.

I agree: blotchy toning suggests that it may have spent some time (perhaps decades), in a Whitman folder.

MS-64, nice luster, but blotchy toning will hold the value down.

As a parallel, collectors of modern proof silver coins can be very disappointed when their coins develop blotchy toning, if they are issued in less than effective packaging.

I really really like it! I do think it is MS64 or possibly even MS65. Great coin.

I'm at MS64. I find the inconsistent obverse toning distracting, personally. Reverse toning is more tolerable

I'll say MS-65, I see no high point rubbing on the coin so it could even grab a 66, but I would also conserve this coin without hesitation.

MS64-I really like the reverse cameo look and toning. The obverse toning is a neutral.

when grading surface preservation is weighted double. the other components are all the same when assigning a value. I would say eye appeal here is below average. I think the luster is solid underneath all that. abrasion and light scratch obv right field. I think the coin would grade MS65+ if it were not for the patchy toning. I think its MS64+ or outside shot at 65 from a grading standpoint but I think the eye appeal will affect the coin in the value category
