So This 1940 S Wheat Cent Looks Candy Striped With 3 Colors?

CCB420 Pillar of the Community United States 588 Posts	Posted 04/13/2022 9:03 pm So I threw one of the wheat pennies I found in the "give a penny, take a penny" in some acetone, just to get some of the dirt off, then noticed this stripe going through the entire coin, both sides! At first I thought his face was all scratched up with road rash, but upon closer look, that's the lighter color of the alloy mixture maybe? Looks like abe's going to a kiss concert, with half his face painted! Then to the southeast of that stripe, the smallest part, is much darker than the bigger portion, that is a lil lighter shade. This light isn't helping my pics, you can see it better with natural light, but yall tell me if you can see what I'm talking about Report this Post to the Staff
