thanks silviosi, I will try and get some better pics but did not have much luck through the cello. I dont want to crack it out but when I get setup again I will get the set back out and try to get some that are a little clearer but I really tried today for a long time so we will see. Thanks GSP, I never have one like this in my hand. I do not think it is 801, but other. In your place, I will send to Mike Diamond to analyze. Look you has to understand that what is know and publish do not mean is finish. TE in Liberty are correct, the date is different from 801. If I look at the PLU in EPU again other things. I will ask Mike Diamond (if I will be in you place) to have a look. With me is more the varieties, which I do not see now. Could be. In 1963 the Mint use also the 1962 dies which has different hub. Maybe 1/10 of the coins use 1962. Due to the melt of the silver, now it is a scarce variety, not rare or very rare. But still be. and what push me to tell you this it is: is the PLU and UN (characteristic to 1962).

Die scratch match up helps a lot. Get three die scratches that match (exactly) from three different areas, then you know you have the same die number. Best place to look is near the devices and inside of devices. The die scratches last longer on those areas. Having the coin in hand you can see which ones match best. If not exact, it could be a different die? treat the die scratches like fingerprints to ID dies. If it is stronger on one die and die polishing reduces the strength, it could be from the same die. Or if new scratches are added, then inside of the devices, they could be still seen if that area wasn't polished the second time. Cause and affect also counts for die scratches. Consider these when trying to match up a die. I always figure three exactly matching locations (in different areas), to be sure you have an example of the listed die. (But also consider your coin may have been struck before the dies were polished?) Cause and affect.
