The cut-off for Colonial 3d is usually taken as 1845, after which they were for circulation in the UK as well as for Colonial use - it's one of those little details which are oft repeated but which there doesn't seem much certainty.

I agree the Diversity and the Brexit 50p of late have to be the two most dreadful designs of 50p so far, but I'm sure with a little effort the mint can surpass that...
