What am I seeing on this coin. it looks like the letters in Liberty are split and what is with the line thru the B? I have learned more about coins in the last week then I ever knew but still trying to figure it all out.

Part of the issue is your lighting. You are using two light sources. This creates light and light. With a single light source, it will create light and shadows. That works better for micro images. If you use one light source, put the light on the opposite side you want to show. If it is a doubled die, then the shadows will help you see it.

Too much light is like take images of the sun. All we see is light.

If you are seeing Machine Doubling, the glare hides this when we look at it, but you see something there, but the glare will hide what your see and what we can't see:

So try going to a single light source and you will show/note that something is there/or isn't there. Light is not always our friend. You just have to out think it.
