When Machine Doubling is created, is this a ONE coin event or are multiple coins doubled? I found one 2011 d Jefferson nickel with strong doubling on date and Liberty. Then I found another same doubling . Then another.

. Not a one off, many will be minted that are alike. And as the dies get looser the coins will look differant.

MD is a die issue - the more it is used the more it wears out and the worse the Machine Doubling gets. So you will find many of these.

someone please correct me if I'm wroing, but I think Machine Doubling can also happen with fresh dies if those dies are loose or "bounce" after a strike

The strike can be different from strike to strike. Here is an example:

So depending on how loose the machine is, it doesn't always look exactly the same. Note the markers are the same on these images. So they are all from the same die. Just the MD is slightly different. Machine doubling doesn't make it a doubled die, a doubled die comes from the strike a doubled die.. So Machine Doubling can happen on a doubled die as it is a striking process, but the die makes it a doubled die, because of the doubled hub affect on the die not by the strike of the machine.

CoopHome: What creates a doubled die? The machine post strike, or a doubled die? Can you have both on the same strike? Yes!

Some varieties are known for being machine doubled. The 1939-S rpm-001 cent is one that comes to mind. I don't think that I have seen an example that isn't MD'ed.
