Brought some Dansco albums home today and broke open the following slabs to free the coins. Going into the Dansco 7070 Gold Page were a 1862 Indian Headdress Gold Dollar in AU58, freed from an NGC plastic tomb. Also a 1909 Indian quarter eagle in MS-61 freed from an NGC slab, and a 1882 Gold Liberty Head eagle in MS61 freed from a PCGS slab. The Lincoln Dansco album received a 1914-D in VF-25, freed from a ANACS slab, and than (drum roll please) a 1909-S VDB in AU-53 freed from a NGC slab. Before cracking out any of these coins I took pictures of both sides of the slabs and than closeups of the coins still in the slabs. I also saved the labels and bar codes and taped them to the inside covers of the albums. Some of you may think I am a fool, but in the end for me, the albums were not complete until the key coins resided in the holes. I think the Danscos with slip covers will provide plenty of protection and I can enjoy them more this way. ***Title Edited by Staff***

Good for you Okie-Colin! Just having the coins is OK I guess but having them in the album with the others is much better in my opinion. I thought you found a bunch of coins with die cracks.

Sorry about the original title o moderators. I was hoping everyone would know the title was a joke. Never touch the stuff, never have, never will!

Quote: I thought you found a bunch of coins with die cracks. That was exactly what I was thinking too. I was like man this guy finds a whole roll of die cracks and I have only found 1 good one ever.

I say "good for you". Nothing I like better than picking up a Dansco and admiring the contents. From the sounds of it, The one you have would be a real treat to see. Congratulations.

Good for you! I am about 50% ram for my type set right now, but that will change as soon as I find that sledge hammer.

Nice coins, nice courage. I'm glad I am not the only one that likes the completeness of albums.

Gratz! Glad to see you bust those coins free! I'll do the same thing when the time comes, I'm not afraid and neither should anyone else ;)

YAY! Freedom! You just committed to the love of collecting, not the financial side of it.

Thanks. It is the 1909-S VDB that made me poor!
