Try using a different background for shooting silver. I've found that black washes it out too much. Try something like an old bank bag. It has a great color and good texture to make your coin really *pop*.

Ouch! This one has been through quite a bit, VG details at best.

Look at the shield, looks like old defacing on the coin.
