About 10 days ago I bid on and won this Morgan at an ebay auction and I posted the sellers pictures, and said I would re-post once I got the coin and took my own Pictures. So here they are and would like your opinions with these slightly better pictures. Thanks .............

The first 2 pictures are the original sellers pictures that I posted before, and the last two are ones I just took myself. All the distracting marks are just surface scuffs, nothing appears into the surfaces other than one cut in her cheek. The Morgan doesn't look circulated but looks to me like it's just not been properly stored, slightly abused. Perhaps just tossed in a drawer or amongst a collection of other coins or keepsakes for decades or a 100 years or so.

The coin does not have the appearance of going through normal circulation or handling. The white areas in the fields look like the coin came into contact with some type of chemical either intentional or unintentional. From the seller's photos it appeared to be just lighting, but white areas are showing up in your photos.

I would try an acetone soak as the white area may be some type of residue, and you get lucky and it comes off.

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? These seem to get quite pricey above MS64. However, it isn't that high. Looks like wear to the hair under 'U' of Pluribus. If it isn't wear then it is a weak strike, either way it will hurt the value. The lustre looks pretty unbroken but there are many marks, which don't look deep but its hard to tell from both sets of photos. There looks to be a good dint in the 1 on the date. A few scattered marks to the reverse but I'm sure they are only light contact marks.

I can't quite see it at MS63, therefore I'm going MS62+

Nice coin for that price. Even if it's AU and not MS. But my guess is MS.

I think it would grade AU-55 due to all the marks

AU-55. Wear evident on high points and not much luster in the photos.
