Would appreciate any thoughts on the ink (smudge? technical term) about the B on the Serial Number. If you could enlighten me on what it is actually called and if it common or not. I did check the back to see if it's a web note but there is no number above the 'E' in 'ONE'. Thank you.

To me, this doesn't really look like an ink smudge. It could be a small misprint of some sort

Thanks Sno. Are you thinking it's probably nothing? I've only been looking through Dollar Bills for a month or so (maybe 300 total) but hadn't seen this particular misprint before.

I'd probably consider it nothing of great importance. But, I am definitely not a bill expert, so don't take what I say as the 100% truth. I think you should see what the other forum members have to say about this before you make your final decision

This appears to be offset printing from the weight of sheets pile above it or a number of other things. I'd reject such a note if this was conventional printing job.

Thanks Mac. Should I just go ahead and buy a 1/4 gallon of gas with it at this point?
