I think this is the nicest penny I've ever had. Could it be the special mint set finish,so as described on the PCGS top 100 modern coins? I couldn't upload a screenshot of the page that this penny was shown in.

What you have is a nice business strike, not a SMS

It's a business strike. Pics very pixelated, hard to see much but it looks to have almost no hits. NICE COIN!

photos are a little blurry to see the surfaces accurately but in looks fairly clean of marks just a VLDS or weak strike. because of the sharp motto, LIBERTY and date and sharp letters on the reverse I'm going with weak strike. not sure how much to take off for the strike but it looks to be MS65RD. I dont think it can higher with this strike.

Unfortunately no SMS coins were made in Denver. Just a nice, BU example.

Yes the Denver do the coins seem like an SMS but not exactly. It is a nice coin you have and I thing is an 64 or 65. Over 65 scarce to find, and have really nice strong full design on. I thing also that 64 and 65 is under-sub-estimated because is hard to find.
