I haven't seen this coin posted or discussed much on the forum so I thought I'd put it out there.

I find a lot of 5 Francs...french and Belgian, Morgans and Peace dollars, but this is my first Romanian...

Yeah, they are not so common I think. Nice to see one.

It is interesting that king Carol calls himself "Carol I" (as if he knew there would be a Carol II - there was, but not for another half century). I don't know of any other "first" monarch including the ordinal number in his/her name.

@era...good point I didn't think of that. Particularly strange since this was the first year of his reign and Carol II wouldn't be born until 1893!
