Hello

I have this coin written North Wales from the year 1756.

I could not find much information about it. Maybe could be a token but I guess it is a colonial coin.

If anyone have any information about that coin it would be much appreciated. The coin is:

8.16 gr
27,5mm

Thank you all

The only North Wales I am aware of is a post-colonial halfpenny from 1795, but has no date on it. The reverse image looks similar to yours, but the head on the obverse points in the opposite direction.

As more information is presented, this topic may be moved to a more appropriate forum.

I looked up the 1756 in Breen's encyclopedia of colonial's, and there is almost no comments about the Breen's #1150. Here are the comments: 1756 Same obv. Rev., harp, NORTH WALES 1756. ex. rare.

The same obverse is reference to the 1736 HISPANIOLA reverse example with the same head at the 1756 North Wales.

My guess is that Breen knew very little about the 1736 and 1756 AUCTORI PLEBIS COPPERS.

In Q David Bowers latest Colonial book he makes reference about the 1787 Auctori Pelebis coppers, but omits the 1736 and the 1756.

In the 1790's there was a token issued with no date that had a Washington head and the the North Whales reverse.

The PCGS 1756 North Whales example sold in 2020 at Stacks as follows:

1756 Auctori Plebis Token. Breen-1150, Atkins-Unlisted, Cobwright A.0060/N.0020. NORTH WALES--Planchet Lamination--VF-30 (PCGS).
The November 2020 Auction. Ended: November 18th, 2020
Sold $1,680.00

You may want to consider sending in your example to PCGS for grading. PCGS uses the number #826971 for the 1756 Auctori Pelbis, North Whales.

On the 1736 Auctori Plebis HISPANIOLA there are about 25 graded between NGC and PCGS.
On the 1756 North Whales I could only find one graded by PCGS noted above.
