It can't be UNC if it has wear.

I would rate it as MS64, or even MS65.

What about the red marks on it? I Doubt it is MS grade. 1937 has a lot of nice high grades at nice prices.

Agree AU-58, red spots detract as noted.

Yes I saw the red, my initial guess was MS60-62 but I wasn't sure, I try and use the PCGS photograde but Buffalos are hard to for me to grade.

What? How? Why? I also evaluated PCGS photos and saw MS there. The tail, horns and beard of the buffalo look very good. There are small scratches on the Indian's cheek, but that's all.

the red gunk accumulated duiring circulation, it might come off with acetone, but might leave stains behind

As a buffalo, remember the serious is notorious for its variability in strike quality. I'd bet there are a thousand threads on this forum talking about soft strike vs light wear. It can be a really tough call.

I'm with the AU-58 crowd based on the vibe I get around the braids and a light scratch in the cheek and center of the buffalo's torso. I think it saw a pocket or two and a slide into an old cash register.

I'm at AU-58 because there appears to be a little flatness to the Bison shoulder. An acetone bath might help to remove that red gunk.

If there is wear, it cannot be uncirculated.

OP - consensus is clearly AU-58 with an obvious distraction. You disagree, that's fine. Go for it if you don't believe us.

Slider. I'll go with AU-58 as there does appear to be some rub on the bison shoulder. Could certainly grade 62 too.

It seems this post of mine has ruffled some tail feathers, not really sure why. I got it for a good deal @ 2 bucks so I'm not really worried. I made the post to learn, I was just guessing it would be a Low MS quality but wasn't sure. Ill try the acetone to see if it helps out with the overall eye appeal. I really just want a ms62 or higher for the album.

This coin has some marks on, but IMO never circulate. The strike for 1937 was not the best of the series.
