Hello to all in the north! Found this 1943 Canada penny in my bank roll hunt yesterday. I was wondering what year the mint switched to the small cent. Was the larger cent the size of the UK penny? Also the diameter of the Canadian penny looks the same as the Lincoln Cent and the weight is 3.3 grams, is this correct? Thank you in advance for your answers! This is the second 1943 I've found in circulation. I understand you quit making pennies in 2012. Hope we continue making them for a while. It keeps me entertained searching them and is an inexpensive hobby. Regards from the lower 48. Sorry about the split view of the obverse and reverse but my camera rig has a restricted view due to the setup.

The Canadian cent changed to the small size in 1920. The previous cent was about the size of a British halfpenny.

I'll let one of CCF's Canadian members answer your questions about the weight and actual diameter.
