That sale prices on 1948 Canadian $1 coins have increased over sale prices for similar grades compared to a couple years ago.

Not only that, but inventory is way down, there used to be a darn near unlimited supply of them in a range of grades online, now, there are many less examples for sale and the prices are higher.

I've been looking for one for 2-3 years mostly on ebay graded by PCGS or NGC in high AU or low MS. The prices have definitely gone way up.

Any recommendations for other sites?

Heritage Auctions, TCNC Auctions, etc.

However, I've found that auction house prices are even crazier than ebay.

ebay is the new pricing standard, much to the chagrin of many of us, there's just no denying it. Its a universally accessible, global marketplace with transparent pricing settled in real time.

Anyplace selling cheaper, will be bought and resold on ebay.
Nobody pays more than ebay, since you'd simply buy on ebay and sell to them.

Heritage controls the top-top end but ebay sets price on the mid range and below. New normal.
