When I first pulled this it almost looked like a 1909S but I'm pretty sure it's 1919. Also probably one of my roughest looking Wheat cent finds looks like it may have had an acid bath or something and possibly used as a door proper lol.wasnt sure where to post this. Just realised I didn't take a shot off the reverse, I think has a bit more definition but more or less the same. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Just for reference here is slightly better pics. It's rare to find an S cent over here let alone one this old. Iv never found an even EF+ Wheat cent and most 1940-57 Philadelphia

Agree this is 1919-S, by far the most common MM cent among pre-1920 issues.

Lol I know it's nothing special, just thought I'd share a fun find from across the border:p I found an Indian Head cent once as well that was nothing special I think it was 1906 but I'd have to check the thread. I have a 1910 Wheat cent in more worn shape then this, was given to me by a coworker:) I was also sharing that it was a temporary heart stopping moment when I first pulled it out because I couldn't make out the date untill I magnified it and got my hopes up that maybe it would be a 1909s(which would be very unlikely on this side of the boarder) still a year I didn't have:p I think I have maybe 6 S mint mark us cents and all are fairly rough:p money's been tight for a while so I haven't purchased a coin even in a few months prob. I do plan on purchasing some mid-high grade Lincoln's to build my own set once things are settled.

I'm assuming you found this in circulation. if so, to find any LWC in the teens in circulation is fun as they are rarely encountered

I never found a pre-'20 mint mark wheat when roll searching in the early 70's. Cool find indeed!

Based on my last pictures I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 1949 that has possibly been altered. I should probably just check it under the scope to be sure but I'll do that tomorrow.

Since I save every American coin I find, the ones not worth saving are worth a bit more then Canadian so when ever I go to the states for the first time I can use it to its full value This little guy I think I'll save just because it looks like it had a hard life so far

Cool find! Enjoying a find regardless of condition or value is a big part of the hobby. It's not every day you find a coin over 100 years old.

Finding a coin this old in the wild is really something, even though it's a rough example! I think the last time I found a Wheat cent this old in circulation was in the late 1960's in my early days of collecting. I've never been a roll searcher, however...
