What kind of large plastic storage bins do people use to store collections?

I was interested in the Weathertight Totes from the Container Store, as they look like they would be good at preventing humidity from getting in. They are made of polypropylene, which is good. However, these (and many other polypropylene plastic bins in stores) give off a moderate or strong chemical smell when opened. What is this chemical smell, and is it harmful to the coins (I'm guessing it probably is)? Washing it and airing it out does not always seem to work in my experience - I have one bin that still smells several years later. Food-safe containers do not have that smell, but the largest I've seen is about 15-20 quarts, which does not leave a lot of room to grow a collection and might not be able to fit more than a few albums or binders.

Thanks!
Rest in Peace

If your worried about the smell I would just put a bunch of Dessicant packs in the Plastic bin with some potpourri .

Too, smaller containers make it easier to move a collection around, vs. one or two 'large' tubs--a few pounds each when full vs. 80-100 lbs each.
