Quote: Then tell dansco your feedback, not dansco album store lol Ya, Ya, Ya - I know about the 'Real' Dansco site (I just forgot about it - even had it book marked. lol) I may do just that. BUT! I have figured out a work-around this 'issue' How about this: I just bought the 7188 album to get the 4 hole per row pages, I'll erase all the pre-printed labeling and re-label each page with the year and state. BUT one full page for each year. the first page I will buy 2 extra 2018 Proof coin (to fill the top 2 holes - one showing obverse and 1 showing reverse. THEN in the 1st 4 hole row, I'll put the P, D, Proof, and Reverse Proof. Leaving the very last row empty for any possible varieties that crop up. The next 6 pages will be for 2019-2024. THEN I'll buy the 8188 album, use that album cover to put the 7188 pages into it. I'll be able to re-sell the 7188 empty album and the 8188 proof pages on ebay to recoup some money. ... HEY Dansco -

That can potentially work also. The difference is just that the blank pages I mentioned which already exist if you can get them would not have all the pre-printed labeling under the portholes like the 7188 would except only the title at the top if they dont wish to make new title pages with Innovation Dollars and with 16 ports 4x4 instead of what they are making 12 3x4 if you call them and explain. It would be more however since each page is over $10. At least you will get an album the way you like. As far as feedback Dansco does want to know what collectors want as mentioned to me and I mentioned in a prior post, and just that it appears noone gave them feedback prior to the production and just posted on forums they arent monitoring apparently as I mentioned so thats why direct feedback can be helpful to a company going forward if there is a question. .

I would still need to buy the entire album (8188) to house the pages in - another 53 dollars plus shipping. either way I go it will cost, the doing the math, my way will be a little bit cheaper, and I have the ability to resell the unused album/pages back to someone that needs/wants them. (I would even sell back at a price that is cheaper than they would get else-where.) I plan on giving feedback to the Dansco folks, but once I make my "Prototype" and I can send them some pictures of what some people may want. Maybe if they see what someone did to arrange the album to get it 'right' Dansco may listen a little.

Jbuck: I do want to keep each design side-by-side in the pages, so buying two date-set albums (one for proof, the other for reverse proof) is off the table. Just as well, buying those probably means waiting until 2023. Maybe two 7188s or two date-set albums separating the P&D from an album with proofs, or else would have to go with one of the things being discussed above that cost more and may require some relabeling to keep them all together such as 4 portholes per row. The caps album company also can do mods to albums and pages to get the layout you prefer. How many want reverse proofs in their album? If alot it would be better to have made 7188 P&D plus a similar labeled album for only S proof and reverse proof. Then a P,D,S and Reverse Proof with 16 portholes, 4 across x 4 rows (2 allbums due to number of pages for all those needed years). for those like you and Dearborn who seem to prefer them together. Not sure how you two differ in opinion of what you want vs other collectors of Innovation Dollars. What does ericgreen and others think? Maybe if they see what someone did to arrange the album to get it 'right' Dansco may listen a little. They will listen and asked for the info on what collectors want but did not have that information given to them PRIOR to making these albums as they are. So right now they have the P&D 7188, the P&D&S without reverse proof 8188 (3 per row). Currently they plan on doing album 7189 (Date set) and 8189 (the second proof book) in late 2023 and the only new blank page they are making so far that will say innovation dollars has 12 ports 4 rowsx3 across likely (while the sacagawea had 16 ports 4rowsx4 across per row for example) that could work so yes based on the above info and the prior posts you may have to do some mods to get what you want. Depending how many other collectors opinions of what they want are like you & jbuck (how widespread this issue is), maybe dansco can make some further change.

Thanks for the support Data, Yes, Change is good (at times - and if it benefits the masses. Dansco can easily take the Sacagawea 4x4 page and label them for the Innovations in the orientation that I would like to see. I unfortunately have to go and take a different road to get a nice album by buying both the 71xx and 81xx albums and more everything around to have what I think will look as if Dansco had designed it. But since I'm doing this for me, and it makes me happy, then so be it.

Well at the moment you can buy a 8188 album which has the 6 added blank portholes on the last page, and then buy one single blank page that will say innovation dollars as the title on top that should be available in a few weeks that will have 12 portholes without printing I believe 3 across, 4 rows as is the album, which will total 18 portholes to put the reverse proofs in the back of the album. You will need one of these pages also for the 8189 album next year. This is the most cost effective and will look good just that the reverse proofs are separate from the other 3.
Its only when you want them in another layout such as 4 portholes across the pages to have a P,D,S, S reverse proof all on that one row 4 across which is not how its designed or having say a 7188 for P&D and another 7188 or two date albums for proofs and reverse proofs since nothing like that was discussed prior to making the albums. Going forward make sure to give feedback ahead of time direct to dansco if something like that happened again. I doubt they will want to make a PDSS album now that they committed to a PDS only two album set but perhaps might consider making blank pages of innovation dollar printed title at the top with 4 rows of 4 (with no printing on the portholes) - same as the sacagawea I mentioned, for those who would want to buy pages for that layout without the printing vs the complicated way you are doing it. Or can use the sacagawea pages and only would have to overwrite the title.

Do you have a link to where I can buy the 8188 Album? (The Dansco album store does not seem to have them yet.)

https://www.jpscorner.com/products/...018-2032-p-dDansco had mentioned a shipment with 8188 was sent to coinsupplyexpress also I mentioned earlier.and should be there now but it is not listed on their website so looks like you'd have to call M-F to double check. https://www.coinsupplyexpress.com/ 800-503-6461 Otherwise, The 8188 album is done and available now in stock from Dansco so just ask your dealer/seller if you feel more comfortable with a different seller to order it from them now if the seller does not have any yet in stock. Other dealers may not have yet placed a new order with Dansco or might take up to a month to get from their supplier network.

Wow, a lot to digest after my absence! Quote: How many want reverse proofs in their album? If alot it would be better to have made 7188 P&D plus a similar labeled album for only S proof and reverse proof. I only have proof and reverse proof. I will not be buying the P&D business strikes. Ideally there would be a version of the 7188 P&D album that has the holes labeled as Proof and Reverse Proof. I could justify using the 7188 if I could come up with a word that starts with D and describes a reverse proof coin. I was originally set against getting two date set albums because I want the two proofs side-by-side. However, I believe I could live with them being separated. Decisions, decisions. Good thing I have some time to figure it out.

Quote: Decisions, decisions. Good thing I have some time to figure it out. Well, I have already ordered both albums (7188 and 8188) for my conversion experiment. I'll post up my results when I get them and modify the labeling. So ,you may want to wait for that at the very least.

I could justify using the 7188 if I could come up with a word that starts with D and describes a reverse proof coin. Denver & Philadelphia Reverse Proofs? or D&P Reverse Proofs At this moment either can use the 7188 so you can put two proofs together in the album or getting the sacagawea/presidential dollar blank extra pages as mentioned earlier since they have the 16 portholes - 4 across x4 rows layout you like with the correct size for the innovation dollars and could use those for the proof and reverse proofs. One benefit is you would need half the amount of pages since its only proof & reverse proofs and not also P&D. You also would have no labeling on the portholes to erase pre printed text but you would have a title to overwrite (unless we asked dansco to make a titled blank page INNOVATION DOLLARS with 16 portholes, 4 across besides the titled 3 across one they are making now (to add reverse proof to the .8188 in the back). You can use any album cover or somepoint buy a 7188 for the cover if you prefer and would have pages for the P&D should you wish to add any of them someday. There is no current plan for a 7188 like album for just proof & reverse proof. If I was them I could imagine this might .be the only album they might even consider in a couple years if there was enough demand since they essentially messed up a bit with the 8188 having only s and would need an extra page in the back added for the reverse proofs, plus they have a 7188 for P&D and a S&S reverse proof album would complement that for those expanding their. collection. There is no way they would make a PDSS with the PDS two set already being produced. Ultimately its up to what people like you want and then having them contact dansco directly. The date set might look ok but we dont know the layout and there would be alot of text to erase.

So the 7188 album arrived Step 1 is to erase most of the pre printed labeling on the pages (very carefully)
