Hello.
I've recently inherited coins that my grandparents kept from their travels. I found the above coin and it is red in colour. I've done some research and found out red coins are more uncommon. Could any collectors out there tell me if this coin would be desirable to a collection?

. That is red from circulation. When speaking of a red cent with added value we are referring to a mint state coin not a circulated coin. Your coin is worth face value.

To CCF , When photographing coins to be reviewed always take pics of both sides of the coin . Also crop them , we don't need to see all that background . You have what we call a red & brown cent . from what I can see it's in decent condition but probably circulated for a short time making it in Almost Uncirculated grade . This coin may be a better grade but we really need to see the other side .
Anyways this is a very common 95% copper Lincoln Cent . In this condition is only valued at 1¢ , just a spender .

this is a coin that is in its midlife when it comes to coloring. that start out bright coppery red go to red/brown, then finally brown when the patina is fully formed.
But this is a very nice coin from the US. I'm glad your gran-parents had collected it and gave it to you. I don't remember how many US coins that can be found in the UK, but I do know it was not many. (I lived in Wales for 4 years back in the mid 80's. A little town called Haverfordwest in Dyfed county.)

Not even RB to me. Looks more like environmental toning of some sort.

Doesn't look truly Red-Brown. Some collectors do like the environmental red 'toning,' though, and it wouldn't be a bad coin for starting a Lincoln Cent collection/album. If you don't want to do that, you could keep it for sentimentality.
