1970 D Penny Floating Roof?

Not a true floating roof and that fingerprint would make it a spender to me.

These are just die polishing events. They can happen on any die, when the die is polished away on the sub devices. This happens a lot and given the credit of being more than what it actually is.

This was probably an attempted rescue of a feeder finger damaged die. But it seems they polished away a little bit too much. The FFD must have been real deep. Be interesting to see what the damage look like on the die before. People sell stuff to the un-weary. They see something on a coin and unload them on the rubes not know the differences, giving it a "cutsie" name. Making money off the die events. To me that is just wrong. But it has been going on for years. Know exactly what your are buying, before the purchase. Or you can loose money when you go to sell the coin.
