. Photos of other side? It looks like it is not a proof coin, but I know nothing about those coins.

Except for a few specimen proofs the Oz Mints did not officialy start producing Proofs until 1955 AFAIK..

I'd be glad it isn't a proof, because if it was, that corrosion spot on the rim above the kangaroo's head would seriously destroy the value.

I know this is the wrong thread for this but you guys seem quite knowledgeable.

I have a question about another coin a 1dollar 1984 AU to be exact .

In the picture below people have said it's PMD, but the queens head is still visable under triangle indent . Is this common?

Having some of the details still visible underneath the damage from a counterstamp is exactly what we would expect to see. They are correct; it's post-mint damage.

Ok , and in your oppoin would this be from someone tampering with the coin or something else? Sorry to sound stupid I'm just new and still learning .
