Hi,
I found an old coin of France with interesting over mint mark (M/A) and would like to share it with you and have your suggestions. I also wanted to know is it worthed to send this coin for grading?
With best regards

The M on A is the regular mint mark for coins minted in Marseille at the time, so nothing special with this coin. Value in this condition a dollar or two at most.

The mint mark was designed to look like that. Just an artistic way to express "MA" I guess.

Marseilles couldn't use just "M", because the "M" mintmark was already being used by the Toulouse mint. So they picked an "MA" monogram.

France had more regional mints than there were letters in the alphabet, so once they ran out of letters, subsequent mints had to get... creative. One mint, Aix, used the ampersand symbol (&).
