I do think Ol Teddy should be considered for the National Park series but...Leave George alone! Let's make a new 1/2 dollar for the program and spark an interest in the good old 50 cent piece! Half dollars have been the primary coin for commemoratives since their inception and the larger surface could create some nicer coins. Put Teddy on a new half dollar, Promote the National Parks! Want to hear my plans for a circulating $5.00 coin?

Interesting! Thanks for the link!

I actually like the idea. We are determined to never return Liberty to our coins, so we might has well give some of the other popular Presidents their due.

Washington, and all of the others, have has had a good run. It is time to shake things up!

I like the idea, but the legislation authorizes the program for the quarter dollar. It would take a literal "Act of Congress" to change it to the half dollar.

I have to agree with you there.

It's time for all our coins to have new faces. I vote for John Adams - Cent, Martin Van Buren - Dime, James Polk - Nickel, Zachary Taylor - Quarter and Millard Fillmore - Half.

I feel like the minority, as I would really like to see new coins with stature and substance in design and physicality. An eagle on the reverse and liberty on the front. I say atleast an eagle we need eagles, like seated liberty eagles. Kiss and classic!

What, no one wants William Henry Harrison? He served very well for almost a month before he died.

Did Roosevelt initiate the National Park system? Maybe that's why they are considering him for the obverse of those quarters. And not for example the half dollar.

I have been thinking about this for the last day. Placing Teddy on the quarter might be a good idea to help spark more collector interest.
I'm really curious to know how many people who only collect the State Quarters will continue to collect the National Park Quarters.

I did collect the State Quarters, I won't be collecting the National Park quarters.

I am as yet undecided about this year's set

I will probably collect them from circulation just as I did the Statehood Quarters, only because it is relatively easy to do.
