I think it's just missing some of the copper plating but I'm not sure.it's a pretty good shape Lincoln Cent.it has doubling a little as well.would it be worth more?

If your referring to 'UNITED STATES" on the reverse, that is Split Plate Doubling.
A worthless type of doubling.

I think they are referring to the 'silvery color that seems to be bleeding through the copper plating. We have seen that before but forget what we called it..

Most would say it is from a cigarette lighter. I am on the fence with these. May be a plating issue.

The 2x2 holder is worth more than the cent therein. Zinc showing is not a good thing. Next stop zinc rot.
