Design is a little busy but reminds me of old images of Artemis I looked at in my childhood. Thoughts? Thanks! Macedonian (Roman Protectorate). Republican period. Silver Tetradrachm (16.79g). Circa 167-149 BC. First Meris. Amphipolis mint. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield. Reverse. Club monogram above and MAKEΔONΩN above, ΠPΩTHΣ below; all within wreath. SNG Ashmolean 3299; SNG Fitzwilliam 2342. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21786 Posts	Posted 06/29/2022 12:07 am The best nearest equivalent I can come up with is a rather nice pressure cast base metal silver plated fake. Density near correct (lead admixture in the alloy?), but slightly smaller and thicker flan, and about 2 grams under weight, it has hints of a green verdigris haze trying to appear through the plating. Circumferential casting seam has bee skillfully filed away and there is very little evidence of casting bubbles or pimples in the fields. Probably artificially patinated by a rub over with Renwax. Style quite acceptable for the type, - molds almost certainly taken from a genuine coin, probably using the lost wax investment casting method. Against mine, example pictured looks to be OK.
