RobO411 Pillar of the Community United States 2404 Posts	Posted 07/02/2022 4:12 pm Looks like Coppercoins 1982D-1DO-001. Reverse markers match. My MM looks to be maybe in a different location/closer to the 9 and in a slight angle. Faint splits at the serifs and a separation line on the outside curve. I would also like to find out what's going on at upper west of the MM? If that's anything. Thank you for looking and opinions. Rob. Sorry skipped a couple pics trying to limit amount. It sure does no look like a VV DDO - and I have always had issues with CC. Coppercoins # is on the last picture of date and MM of theirs. On VV what I saw was only about the ear on a large date. The MM didn't look to match and it was for the large date. Also the die was polished and the devices were slightly smaller. When allowing for these issues, they were making the mintmark look slightly incorrect. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/02/2022 5:17 pm The die polishing reduced the devices just slightly. But the spread on the '2' was still there on the CC example. But your coin is from a fresher die state. Note the black line on the tops of the devices? That is to make the images horizontal. This will fall on the tops of the devices. If not, then I rotate to get the horizontal of the tops of the devices. On the CC example, it was close, but rotated just one degree. I cropped the outside edges of the digits and made them both 600 pixels wide. Thus, why your mintmark looked slightly off. Also the die state of your coin was a fresher, unpolished die state, so the devices on the '2' were slightly smaller. Thus the differences of the states.
