Hello all, I am new to the forum.

My father in law is a big coin collector and he gifted his son (my partner) a roman Vespasianus coin which he had made into a chain to be worn around the neck, so the coin was mounted in a metal round 'frame' so that both sides of the coin were visible and then the frame attached to the chain.

My partner never removed this chain ever as it meant so much to him, and unfortunately on the 17th June 2022 whilst on holiday in Barcelona, the chain was ripped from his neck and stolen.

This is a long shot and I know nothing about coins, but I thought it might be worth posting in here in case it appears in any dealers.

I have attached a photo of the same coin (photo from the internet), although the one which is lost is much more 'worn' than this.

If anybody comes across what they think may be this coin it would mean the world to us and obviously would pay for its return. Any help GREATLY appreciated :)

@sarz, first welcome to CCF. Second, I'm very sorry to hear of this theft. I'm going to move your thread over to the numismatic crime subforum. For sure it is a long shot, but I'm hoping that someone sees something helpful.
