Hi guys ,
Found a 1985 1 dollar coin with a lamination error I think .
Is this correct or is it another type of error ?
Is this error rare or common .
Always appricate the help provided by you guys

Yes, that is a lamination that is caused by a defective planchet.
Not really that rare but not too common either.

There are a few 1985 $1 with rim - rim lams.
In my experience they're slightly more common on the Obv than the rev.
Not worth a great deal, but still good to have a nice rev example.

i would disagree with the fact they are not rare, they are rare just not valuable. Error collectors like the error to be big lamination flaw or on some of the commemorative issued $1 to be worth quite a bit more as it stand at least a over face value coin and something that worth keeping as 1985 is lower minted year (lamination flaw can happen on any coin).
