Hi, this coin put me many questions for the date. The photo will show 699 instead of 969 because I want you to see difference between first 9 and last one. Still be in cello and it is the only one find with first 9 and 6 in this shape.

Do it is a DD? your opinion appreciate.

@sil, that sure doesn't look like MD to me (which is what I was expecting based on the date). The devices are wider, so yes I'm thinking this is a doubled die. Are any letters in IGWT similarly doubled?

NO sorry forgot to add to post that the rest of the coin fit perfectly with the design an strike, not an small default except some post strike hits in the bin.

Thanks Spence. Me I past thousands of haves in my hand and never see this for 1996. I push away this coin from some years, and now coming back to the because I want to list in my end of March or April book of Halves the DD and Cuds if the legitimate owner sites for will accept those varieties and some errors. I have others which are not listed and not sure if are what I think. We will see what others will say. Thanks, appreciate.

PS the Quarters and the Halves books will have a big discount for the members of CCF with benefice of the Forum. The Editor will contact very soon.

Well the devices look wider, not narrowed as you would expect from MD, so, YES, I think that this may be a doubled Die(Date) DD either way. Would love to see the whole coin...
Although VV has a link for a 69-D Half, but none assigned yet... HMMmmm....

As DEAR ask the full picture of the coin here below we have full Observe and also I find on the observe like an exfoliation combine with perhaps Die crack.

The same like this 6 in date I find only in one proof 1964, all hundreds and hundreds NO.

The die crack and exfoliation (begin)

Full Observe picture:

For this year is no mention of die doubling DDO. Thanks for your inputs
