Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. My question, 2023 - Morgan and Peace Silver Reverse Proof Set. Will collectors and the market embrace an ongoing series of new - Morgan and Peace silver dollars in 2023? Especially if they don't change the design and keep the mintage limit so high? These are two beautiful coins and will turn out spectacular I believe. I have emensly enjoyed them and I would enjoy a 2 coin reverse proof set. I own plenty collectables of past years, the Peace dollar especially. I already maxed out the 3 orders for gift RP sets next year. However, I always enjoy hearing the great opinions, and wealth of knowledge that I certainly find here from many of you all, every time. I just can't bring myself to buy into all of these Morgan and Peace dollars, just the new 2023 Reverse Proof Set. How do you all logically think about this, as well as feel about the above question or anything similar regarding it. Or anything else going through your mind regarding any of it. Thank you all greatly for any response. I learn a lot here and get new perspectives. Cheers! Very Respectfully, W.S. Edited by weasel_spit 07/13/2022 6:03 pm

I'll be buying each one. I especially like the look of a reverse proof coin, and I think others do too. I think the design of the Morgan/Peace will have a nice appearance.

Nobody knows the future. The 2021s were/are very popular. The 2023 will be popular with the first proofs and first reverse proofs. Some will continue to collect the series. Others like me just want the "firsts." I don't plan on buying any more after next year. I'm mostly a bullion stacker, not a coin collector. Nobody knows what the mintages will be in future or how many years the series will last. That's all just speculation.

If they put a limit of 3 (or less) per household that would interest me. When there is no limit, the telemarketers gobble them up and the average collector loses out.

the premiums on these are quite ridiculous, in my eyes even though I like to get one for the collection.

Peace dollars are one of my favorite coin designs. Just can't resist.

I'll bet that the whole series will get sold out so yes buyers will embrace them. But will collectors? With flippers and large dealers buying a large percentage of the mintage, that question will take time to answer. I for one will buy the proof and reverse proof and 99% certain I'll get the uncirculated also.

I tell myself that the uncirculated 2021 pair and the proof & reverse proof ones I buy in 2023 will complete my "type set" of Modern Morgan & Peace dollars. However, I feel like I might get sucked into starting an album for these.

I will try to stick to the Peace dollars to keep my collection complete.

I'm a big fan of Peace dollars; Morgans not at all. I'll buy the reverse-proof duo but not sure if I should dump the Morgan or keep it with the Peace dollar. I presume the pair will be worth more together than separate. Just got into getting the Peace dollar set a couple years ago and have acquired a handful of the originals, but the release last year of the new coins has jacked-up pricing for the nineteen-hundred varieties so much that I'm now in shutdown mode.

I did my Peace dollar set in 2019, I was able to pick up a lot from the AU silver stack as people didn't want Peace dollars. I really should have done it in MS as MS peace weren't very costly, but it is one of my favorite collections.

That is a nice looking set. So far, Morgan & Peace are just type coins to me, although I do have one special 1922 Peace dollar from my grandfather.

The reverse proof has the lowest mintage of the 2023 morgan / Peace dollars. Since that finish has never been done before, I'd bet that one will be popular and should sell out quickly. I have 4 on subscription which will just go in my PILE of US Mint shipped products - unopened.

I don't think any of the 2023s will be an instant winner for flippers, RP included. I think future pricing will depend on if the mint makes this series (Morgans & Peace) collectable or if they do what they did with ASEs and make rarities that the average collector is unable to buy from the mint or aftermarket. I think too many different versions each year would be bad as well. 2021 was the exception with P,D,S,O,CC - of course the 2023 set is 6 coins again.

The reverse proof coins are the only Morgan/Peace coins I'm purchasing this year. I like the reverse proof look...The Pride of two nations set is one of my favorites. If they continue in 2024, I'll consider purchasing the proof versions.

Quote: The reverse proof coins are the only Morgan/Peace coins I'm purchasing this year. Same. I do not collect either series as a set, I only acquire them for the type. Quote: The Pride of two nations set is one of my favorites. It is one of mine, too.
