I'm back. We finally split my mom's collection and I got all the commemoratives(sp) I am going to get this coin graded (which service is best?) and whatever it comes back as will be the minimum grade for the remaining coins as I collect them. I want to eventually get an entire commemmorative set. (I've got miles to go before I rest).

I'm not familiar with the grading nuances for this coin but it looks uncirculated to me. The flatness of the rider's leg on the reverse appears strike-related. The obverse looks MS-63 but there are some noticeable hairline scratches on the reverse that will affect the grade. Hopefully the grading service won't determine that the coin has been cleaned. I'd try PCGS although NGC and ANACS are good choices as well.

I'd peg the overall grade at MS-62. You're off to a fine start for the classic commem series. Congratulations!

uncirculated details...low MS grade IMHO (60-62) grading services such as PSCS,NGC,ANACS are your best bet...enjoy and welcome to the forum!
