Hello, been reading this forum for months but finally decided to join up! Will be submitting a few coins in the near future and wanted to have opinions other than my own on what to expect for grade. First up is a regular strike 1886 Morgan link to higher res >>> https://ibb.co/SJDH8RS Edited by LazerPig 07/28/2022 01:04 am

Let me try (but I am a novice).
Surfaces are hard to judge. Is the coin bright or dull?
I think this might be AU-58.
If it is MS, it will be MS-64+ I assume.

Can we get larger photos cropped close to the coin? Hard to grade from these.

86(P) are typically sharply struck. your coin is short of that with weakness around the ear and the breast areas. the fields look pretty clean from marks however if the photos are a true representation of the coin the coin has the look of an over dipped coin. I dont think the coin seen circulation as I would expect some marks somewhere. these look like scans and are not the best to grade from. if all the luster is there then it could grade as high as MS66. my bet is UNC details (cleaned).

Thanks to everyone who has already weighed in, I agree the pictures make it look like it's been dipped dull but in hand it has some luster, not great but not as bad as the pics would lead you to believe. I'll take a few more here shortly and see if I can get a more natural look to the surface.

The luster is going to make or break this coin. Like panzaldi said, it is a weak strike for the year, but it is has very little contact marks. Any additional picture, better capturing luster will help be able to grade this one.

My feeling is it has been dipped. Looks unc to me. Not sure if the dip is enough to detail it by the pictures. Hard to tell where it stands.

I'll wait for better photos.

Ok, here are two linked higher res images in incandesant light, unedited except for the crop. They are zoomable by clicking on the image, hopefully these are an improvement but I'll admit I'm having a hard time getting the fields to show luster obv.>> https://ibb.co/7C2M0bP rev.>> https://ibb.co/xmt8r3y

The coin is absorbed by glare from the light source, which makes it impossible to see any surface marks. Don't use a direct light reflection on the coin, and take the photo straight on.

Allright, one more try here, starting to think the problem might be with my camera settings but I'll get it right eventually. Appreciate everyone's advice so far and note the high resolution images are linked below. obv>> https://ibb.co/kSGHK8xrev>> https://ibb.co/KXb9d42
