this coin in NOT actually unidentified, however, I really know nothing about the coin. I presume fifty centavos - is actually fifty cents. if anyone can give me information as to value, or collectibilty, or generally any information about this coin, it will be appreciated. I really don't even know why I would have it in my miscellaneous coins, except that my father was in the south pacific, during WWII. it must be a coin from his travels. thanks.

Yep, a 1944-S 50 Centavos, KM#183, mintage 19.2M, .750 silver (.2411 oz)
Krause gives value for XF as BV, $4.50 in UNC.

Also this coin was minted in the US at the San Francisco Mint.

Philippine Commonwealth coin. I think these coins are really under valued as a lot of these have already been melted.
