1959 UK year set. The only scarce coin is the Scottish shilling, with a mintage of just over one million:

1959 in New Zealand

1959 in New Zealand was like Britain, little of interest - 5 coins only, none rare and no varieties.


Most of my examples are high grade sans the penny


As we enter the 50s UNC/AU coins get harder to find, I got this UNC 6d last year and there is little demand for them, when the average coin is at least VF or so. High rims meant designs were protected well on our coins and only the monarch wears significantly until you hit the high Fine level.
Here is a barely VF shilling to illustrate that point

I upgraded the Florin from VF (Top picture) to gEF above. Starting now top grade Florins are harder to get as the coins got some serious use being the highest coin and 5 of them to the smallest note (Ten Bob).
