OzLeigh, we are now in 1945, so I can't post it here, but I have edited my last 1946 entry and added it in. :)

I just didn't have one - my interest in Australia, has not really stretched to bronze coins yet.

No 3d or Shilling was minted in 1945 in Australia and I don't have the bronze coins either. That leaves a fairly nice sixpence!

Probably EF or almost so. Numbers of coins minted were high - but down on the past 3 years with their American help.

And an AU Florin (Sellers photo). This coin is quite scarce in grades above VF.

1945 was the last year of Sterling or 92.5% silver coinage for Australia.

Darn I don't have one, 1932 and Melbourne Florins - yes and crowns - yes. Here in NZ 1945, a great year of recovery after the War.

A nice halfpenny and a average penny too.

In fact most pennies will be average as they were "Burnished" meaning the blanks were pickled a dark brown colour to discourage "Hoarders" of shiny coins - as the coins were vital in the war effort (Welcome to 6 years of WW2 preachy type propaganda similar to the overreaction of the covid years)

Numbers of all coins were pleasingly high and hence why I can present you with some of the finest my country offers from that distant year.

More images of his Majesty

Next year things change as we go back further into WW2.

1945 UK set - end of WW2 but the only change is that this was the first year without a silver threepence - well, in fact a few hundred thousand were minted, but they were supposedly all melted down - only one is known to exist!
