Can't remember if I've posted this before, but here is a better view of the coat of arms used by Wladislas II (Jagiello). It should look pretty familiar at this point in the thread. I took this picture at the castle museum in Budapest.  "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Almost missed that it was 1511 day... We're entering the period where AD dates become scarcer and AH dates more useful. Unfortunately we don't (yet?) have a lot of CCF members collecting AH dated coins in the right time range.    Shirvanshahs, Derbendi dynasty Ibrahim II (r. 1502-24) AR akce, 517 AH (1511 AD) Baku mint? I've posted some background on Shirvanshah history for the 1500-1510 period in another thread a few years ago. A turbulent time to be sure... My next entry is 1452 (also a Shirvanshah coin, as it happens). |

You, too could have one! https://www.ebay.com/itm/154747942582(I bought from this seller recently and bet they would take less than asking price). These must have been struck in enormous quantities, because there are a lot floating around, and they are not very expensive for a pretty early dated coin. Edited by tdziemia
