1962 in New Zealand, saw another full set of coins and a decent number of each denomination issued.

Just one photo as we have all seen the portrait of the Queen umpteen gajillion times.

1962 also saw an error issued with a one shilling with no groundline next to the Warrior.

1962 United Kingdom coin set:
How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Seventh-Edition!-Ended-At-1380-Waiting-On-1379
A fairly normal year for British coins: no denominations are especially scarce and there are no major varieties. I've got a couple of minor mis-strikes: a penny with a lamination on the obverse and a florin with a slightly grease-filled reverse die:

Across the Channel, France issued its first complete set of the 'new franc' coins for circulation:

The 10, 20 and 50 centimes were in effect official 'mules'. Lagriffoul and Dieudonne both submitted designs for both sides of the 20-centime piece, and patterns of both coins were struck in 1961. However, the Monnaie de Paris decided to pair Lagriffoul's obverse with Dieudonne's reverse:

This design was adopted for the 10c, 20c and 50c coins. The 10c and 20c were the same size as the old 10- and 20-franc coins, which remained legal tender until 1971. However, the new 50 centimes was slightly smaller and lighter than the old 50F, which caused problems as it could easily be confused with the 20c. For this reason the 50c was discontinued after 1964 and replaced by the new half-franc. This in turn could easily be confused with the stainless-steel 5c coin, so the latter was replaced by a smaller aluminium-bronze coin using the Lagriffoul / Dieudonne designs...

Dorado I explained that on my thread on Australian Florins. Besides its only the Reverse we care about it has a date and none of my other florins have this mistake. I took photos of 30 florins in a row and forgot to take one of a obverse - I am a human being.
