this morgan is graded by NGC as MS-64 but not attributed as a S/S but from the pictures in the VAM book it looks like it could be one to me just thought I would see what everyone else thought. I am going to keep trying to get better pictures of the date but until I do I will post this one it shows a little bit of the doubling in the date

I tried to clean up the photo a little.

Is-This-A-1882-S/S

From this photo, I couldn't say that it is, but that doesn't mean it isn't. Does your camera have a macro setting? If it does are you sure its on?

Pics are much better. Thanks, Bryan.

The mint mark matches the S/S pic in the VAM book perfectly. This would make it a VAM-19. The date should have evidence of doubling under each of the digits. I can't see that as clearly in the pics, but you should be able to see that with the coin in-hand.

The mint mark doesn't look like the S/S for VAM-6.

I could be wrong. Hopefully, one of our Morgan experts will be able to give you a more definite answer.

I looked up VAM-19 in the book and what it shows as the obverse is exactly what my coin looks like, the doubling is just so close to the other date its just hard to get it to show well with the camera. I will keep trying but want to thank you again for the confirmation, because I know when people get these books they see all kinds of stuff thats not realy there just because they want to see something. Thats why I posted it here for confirmation from someone that knew more than I do because I am a morgan collector and never knew a thing about VAM's till recently, when I saw the doubling on the 1878 8TF and what I thought was a die break on the 7/8 TF that you all helped me with as just being a normal thing on the 7/8. So I hope you all dont get mad about me posting what I think I have confirmed but I just want that second opinion like you would want before you go into surgery. I may send these in to get attributed even though there not a top 100 or anything just because its the ones I found in my collection myself. I may have another one here also but I dont have any pictures of it yet its a easy one a 1885 1A reverse (pitted reverse) so should be a easy confirmation but will take a few pictures for confirmation on it as well Hope you all can understand my reason for wanting confirmation for above reasons and Thanks again for helping me with this again.

It seemed to be more pronounced in the book, but I'm not a VAM expert, actually I only dabble in identification every now and then.
