Hello,
I'd like to hear your opinions on this sterling silver pin. Is this verdigris or a PVC residue (perhaps from a long time storage/foam)? Any treatment recommendations? Thank you

If the green stuff is not gooey, it's most like to be verdigris.

. Also, it's in a recessed area that was not likely in direct contact with PVC. Treating it with VerdiCare might neutralize it.

Thanks, I may try VerdiCare, but first I will try distilled water and then pure Acetone. Any objections? In general, how does verdigris affect value? Also, what is the prognosis in case it is verdigris? Can it be eliminated or can it spread and eventually destroy the pin?

Is the middle dented? From the photo it looks like it was hit by something. And then exposed to heat as that looks like it melted

Apologies for late response. I don't think so, the middle is the standard pin attachment.
