I acquired this Bank of England Guernsey Overprint a few months back. In my research I believe it to be authentic. It is one of the known serial numbers and the stamp looks legit and not like the known forgeries.

I am asking for opinions to see if anyone sees anything out of the ordinary because I got it for REALLY cheap compared to how much they sell for.

If you don't know the history of these notes I highly recommend you read up on them. They have an amazing story and history behind them.

Thank you.

I hope its legit.

Hopefully, DavidUK can chip in as he collects these. (Sorry can't help)

FYI: the link doesn't work. What site should we look for? I'm sure its interesting background info re: WW2.

Edit: oops! Never mind, got the link to work (Pam West hosts a great site loaded with info).

I don't know anything about them but I find your note very appealing.

Similar to the US Hawaii and North Africa overprints.
Main difference is your note had already been demonetized.
The US notes were still good for use but could be demonetized in a heartbeat.
